So disconnected this week. I walked away from Jen's with my camera cord on the bed instead of in my suitcase. Even though she mailed it early in the week, I'm thinking next week before I have it. So the long and short of it is, I am left with words.
Life has been a whirl-wind. I did work four days this week, so a lot of catchup there. Wednesday I met up with Diane and Sandy for a girls day. What fun we had. Our morning mission, find shower gifts for Amber (Diane's future daughter-in-law). I suggested a trip to Sur la Table in Awatukee, so off we went. OMG-I've always admired this store from the outside, but taking the tour was all eye-candy and mental notes for my personal wish list. Our original thought was this would be a first stop, but each of us found something for the shower.
Lunch at Majerle's, blue cheese burgers and cokes around and then we headed back to Diane's where she and Sandy stenciled an apron using Martha Stewart products, and I did a matching oven mit, that will hold a few small items and a gift card.
We had time to sit on the patio with a glass of wine to work on world problems before sharing a quick dinner, and heading to Art Intersection where we participated in the Scottsdale 100 journals program. This is me having fun with people I love to share time with.
Today it's a nail appointment and errands that include a trip to the Fiber Factory in Mesa and Jerry's Art-A-Rama to look for ink, dye, a small selection of water color and masking fluid to begin my collage suite that will be made up of a series of different mediums, hence mixed-media to arrive at the final piece of art. This is such an EXPANSIVE project ~ excited by the prospect of trying new things.
